Hashing does not finish?

where are these files stored? : External hard drive

what kind of harddrive are you guys using? nas? : HDD on laptop

what order does it scan these folders in? top to bottom? random? :Top to bottom

are there any incomplete files? does it scan them? :None

does it scan ALL files and folders in the library? including download folder? is the download folder in the library? : Scans all files and folders.Only effecting folders which contain sub-folders.Download folder not in library

what is the rough size of any folder in the library that does this? : between 17-20gb

what type of files are in the folders? avi? pdf? png? a combination of types? : mp3 only.Video file folders uneffected

if you guys made a folder and only put a few files in it, that were constantly hashing before, does it still happen? :Tried this and files didn't hash.

To me it seems that folders containing sub-folders are the problematic ones

Pressing the refresh button starts the hashing of files again SO BEWARE!!

Ticked the box "No library file re-hash after last-modified time change" Nothing changed and constant rehashing goes on.

Hopefully this bug can be sorted as the programme itself looks promising

I also have the problem of continuous file re-hash. Hard disk is overheated...

I'm using 1.15 now, and it finally got past the folder... lets hope it finishes

Ok. Thanks!

I use v.1.17 and it does not rehash my files anymore. I am that guest who shares 92GB on my SSD.

Thanks for fixing the bug.

I had this problem too.

Fopnu hashed hours for my terabyte database, but it never finished. Instead it started hashing again and again...

I found out that it stopped hashing while hashing my largest file (60gb) so I moved that file away and now it finished.

I had my files on two external USB3 HDDs and the other hard drives folders got hashed OK, but the second had the problem
I described, until I removed that 60gb 7zip file. Im using Ubuntu 17.04.

Anyway, I hope this helps... Please do whatever to make this software popular :) Thats going to be really hard, but I have faith in you!

I have the same problem I do have a lot of files share but every time I look it says hashing it needs to be fixed that is why when I  search I hardly see a lot of files shared but on winmx  they have a lot more options to tweek it this has very little options on what type of files to share  so they need to add more options to make it easy please

what OS filesharer?

are you guys using v1.18?

have you tried going into the settings->files and check on 'no library file re-hash...'?

1.25v, windows 10, 64-bit, DROBO drive system (think external hard drives grouped together, in case you don't know of DROBO).

I too have had this problem, since the beginning, one of my reasons why I don't use fopnu.

I am just letting the program do it's magic, and I'm on day 2 of hashing.  Still letting it run, just to see.  There is nothing that is "modifying" the files, once they are received by Tixati it goes to my "z" drive and stays, I don't modify the files, rename them or anything.

My settings/files is:

hashing duty cycle %75
hashing maximum mb/s 2000
added library folders shared by default - check
no re-hash after last-modified time change - check
Send files to trash instead of deleting - not checked

I can see in the Library section the folders being hashed, they are saying "waiting to scan x folders" and I'll see the change when it scans folders, sometimes decreasing, but them sometimes increasing in folder count(s).

Now I do have a VERY LARGE collection.  I'm not going to shut down fopnu, just let it run its course, trying to see if it solves everything on it's own.

I'm patient, so no loss/worries on my side, I can understand the hashing process will take time, so I'm just leaving it alone.

Any thoughts?

Goes w/ the DROBO post- I have been hashing for 3 1/2 days straight 24/7

Windows 10, 64-bit, fopnu 1.25

Hashing continues, bounces around different directories, continues to hash bounces around different folders.

I have an extreme amount of files, roughly 11-12 TB's worth that I'm hashing, so I'm expecting it to take SOME TIME but not sure how long.

fopnu v1.42 portable 64 bits still rehashing everytime I execute the program, this is a real problem with big calibre libraries with thousand of files :(

- No re-hash after last-modified time change  (is activated)

what OS are you running fopnu on?

is it going through your whole library or just some files/folders?
