Forgive this truly basic question. I am a Tixati user and I've just discovered FOPNU.

I understand that FOPNU is P2P software, but is it a closed/seperate system that only works with other users of FOPNU or will it also handle/work with Torrents?

it is not based on the bit torrent protocol. It has the potential of private sharing. Requests have been made for adding torrent support but for now at least, this is not planned afaik.
