Getting higher speed in nicotine+ than Fopnu

by Guest on 2026/04/24 04:25:55 PM
1) I'm getting higher speeds nicotine+ than in Fopnu.

2) I was downloading a very famous TV series episodes and both (nicotine and Fopnu) had 2 seeders for it.
Yet, my overall speed of download was extremely high in nicotine close to 60-100 megabits per second and Fopnu was hardly crossing 30-40 Mbps. Why is that so?

3) First I tried Fopnu and let download finish completely. And then I tried nicotine+.

4) All downloading occurred not in default folders but completely different folders,so there's no question of Fopnu hashing files + downloading, simultaneously.

5) When Fopnu was downloading files my PC fan was roaring like a lion but that wasn't the case during nicotine+ use? Again why is that so?

I think there's some issue in efficiency of Fopnu or some internal error is happening, please check. Thank you.

Are you connecting to the same 2 people through both programs? You cant make people give you files faster than the can/want to.

very odd -- was your shared list of files completely done hashing before you began transferring data? the initial hash of a large list will eat some serious resources, but it should only 'kinda tickle' the cpu when it comes to transfers..

you need to make sure nothing else is running for one.. ..and then the person you are downloading from... and ofc the network in between..

Token-Based Flow Control: It uses a sophisticated system to manage bandwidth, ensuring that your downloads don't "choke" your entire internet connection.
